520 3 $a Introduction: Low back pain is very common, with a prevalence of up to 84% among the general population. Many cases become chronic, with 11-12% leading to disability. Mulligan's SNAGS (Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glides) technique addresses pain from intervertebral discs or facet joints. This involves the patient performing active movements while the therapist applies passive gliding to the lumbar joints. Vibration massage guns are frequently used on athletes to relax muscles. Clinical common rehabilitation interventions include modality and manual therapy, but long-term benefits (≥ 6 weeks) are rarely studied. Despite their popularity, the efficacy of vibration massage guns for low back pain is unproven. This study compared clinical effects of Mulligan SNAGS technique or vibration massage gun with modality in patients with non-specific low back pain. Outcome measurements included pain, function, disability, range of motion, and trunk muscle endurance. Methods: 34 patients with non-specific low back pain were randomly assigned to the Modality (M) group (n = 11), modality + Mulligan manual technique (MM) group (n = 9), or modality + vibration massage gun (MV) group (n = 11). The participants underwent 6 weeks of treatment, twice a week. Assessments were conducted at week 0 before intervention, at week 6 after intervention, and follow-up at week 8, including the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for pain, Patient Specific Functional Scale (PSFS) for functional assessment, Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire(RMDQ) for disability, lumbar joint range of motion measurement, and trunk muscle endurance test. Results: After six weeks of intervention, all three groups showed significant improvements in pain, function, range of motion, and endurance (p < 0.05). At the eighth week (follow-up test), the MV group demonstrated significant improvements in pain, function, some lumbar movements, and some endurance tests (p < 0.05). However, in the M group, only pain and disability scales showed significant improvements (p < 0.05), while in the MM group, only lumbar extension and left rotation showed significant improvements (p < 0.05). Compared to the M group, the MV group showed significant change of improvements in pain after six weeks of intervention (p = 0.038). Additionally, the MV group had significant chgnage of improvements in lumbar extension at the eighth-week follow-up test (p = 0.039). Conclusion: All three intervention groups showed varying degrees of positive effects in improving pain, functional scales, and range of motion, with the modality + vibration massage gun group demonstrating the most significant effects.
